Chained by the Chase
You chased me like hell,
with a fire so bright,
I thought you were gold;
my heart took to flight.
Your passion convinced
me, your fervour felt true,
I believed in the dream
of a life built with you.
But years have unfolded,
and truths have come clear,
The weight of your
presence grows harder to bear.
It’s not that I hate you,
or wish you ill will,
But our tastes clash like
thunder, no harmony still.
Your ways grate against
me, like sand in my shoes,
Our worlds misaligned, no
common muse.
And laziness lingers, a
shadow you cast,
The laziest soul—none
could surpass.
I’m trapped in this
dance, though I long to break free,
Waiting for fate to
unravel you and me.
Until that day comes,
I’ll endure, I’ll abide,
In this life we’ve
entwined, with nowhere to hide.
